SANE began with a clear belief: learning should be joyful, hands-on, and deeply human. Built as an alternative education community, SANE creates environments where curiosity leads the process and each learner’s strengths are recognized and nurtured. Founded in 2015, SANE started as a small community initiative and has since grown into a trusted education model serving families across Egypt. Over the years, SANE has supported tens of thousands of parents and caregivers and operated across more than 20 locations nationwide.
Today, SANE is actively led by its founding partners, Sherine El Ashram and Amina Goede, who continue to guide its vision, expand its reach, and grow a strong community rooted in creativity, experiential learning, and green education.
What began as a single space has evolved into a nationwide learning community serving diverse learners and contexts across Egypt.

Born in Cairo, Sherine is an educator deeply committed to education reform and alternative learning models. With professional experience at the World Bank and certification as a Green Educator from The Green School in Bali, she integrates sustainability, arts-based learning, and differentiated education into SANE’s philosophy. Trained in education policy and planning, Sherine brings both vision and strategic structure to SANE’s growth.

Raised between Cairo and Berlin, Amina brings a strong foundation in early childhood education and nature-based play. With nearly a decade of hands-on teaching experience, she focuses on nurturing creative, child-centered learning environments. Amina is also passionate about spatial design, believing that well-crafted environments play a central role in meaningful learning experiences.
