SANE was born from a simple yet revolutionary idea: learning should be a natural, joyful process that honors each person’s unique capabilities and interests. SANE’s doors have welcomed generations of babies and supported hundreds of thousands of parents and caregivers. We have serviced families in over 20 different locations, spreading our SANE energy everywhere.
Founded in 2015 by four passionate partners, SANE was built on a vision to create learning environments where traditional boundaries dissolve and authentic education flourishes.
Today, SANE is actively led by its founding partners, Sherine El Ashram and Amina Goede, who continue to expand its mission and nurture its community.
What began as a small community initiative has grown into multiple locations serving diverse learners across Egypt.
Sherine is a Cairo-born educator passionate about education reform, with experience at the World Bank and certification from the Green School in Bali. She integrates green learning and alternative education into her work, driven by her love for nature and a vision for innovative, arts-based learning environments. Sherine believes in achieving her dreams through planning and vision boards, which makes sense considering her master degree was in Education:Policy and Planning.
Amina, raised between Cairo and Berlin, is a passionate educator inspired by nature and her early experiences in outdoor play. With over a decade of teaching experience, she is dedicated to nurturing young minds and dreams of expanding creative, child-centered learning at SANE. She also has a passion for decorating and making beautiful spaces out of simple treasures.
